Re-opening of the Canada Visa Application Centre

The Visa Application Centre in Colombo will re-open for business on Friday 25th June 2021 and will provide the following limited services until further notice. Kindly disregard all information on the remaining pages of this website.

Biometrics collection for Biometric Instruction Letter holders only

Return of decision envelopes to applicants. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Service and Service Charge Schedule” page of this website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC.

Permanent Resident Travel Document intake (via post/courier only). Submission of PRTD applications in person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice.

Courier Process for PRTD Applications

Please ensure that the Application package includes:

1. Completed application form

2. Checklist

3. A valid passport and a copy of the passport bio data page

4. Supporting documents

5. Proof of payment for Government of Canada Fee

6. The Visa Application Centre consent form

7. Duly filled up courier request form/ Self Addressed return courier envelope.

8. Below charges must be paid in a form of a Bank Cheque in favour of “VFS Lanka Private Limited” and fees must be in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and in exact amount only.

Package transmission (per passport) – LKR 2736.00

Assisted Service – Paper Applications (per application) – LKR 1364.00

Short Message Service (SMS) (per Applicant) – LKR 480.00(Optional)

One-Way Courier Service (per passport) – (the 10% discounted price for courier services will be LKR 636.00)

The minimum validity period of bank cheque should be three months

Note: Ensure to send one single bank draft of the consolidated charges & write the break-up behind the draft.

Submission of passport upon receipt of passport request letter from IRCC (via post/courier only) Submission of passport in person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice.

Courier Process for Package Transmissions

Once you receive notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, you can courier the passport and that request letter to the Canada Visa Application Centre.

With your passport(s), make sure you include:

1. The passport request letter you received from IRCC

2. A copy of the VFS receipt received post enrolling biometrics

3. Your contact information, including your email, phone number and return address

4. Duly filled up courier request form/ Self Addressed return courier envelope.

5. The Visa Application Centre consent form

6. Below charges must be paid in a form of a Bank Cheque in favour of “VFS Lanka Private Limited” and fees must be in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and in exact amount only

Package transmission (per passport) – LKR 2736.00 (** If you have enrolled biometrics at Canada Visa Application Centre in Colombo, you do not need to pay this fee.
